Qualifications & Experience
- MLT accredited by ASCP
- 5 years (preferred)
- Associates Degree
Responsibilities
- Medical Lab Technicians are accountable for accurate results, the proper use of quality control materials and evaluation results
- Performs proficiency testing, compiles data and send to reporting agency
- Recognize the interdependency of tests and conditions that affect test results
- Performs routine, STAT and timed tests on specimens in accordance with procedure manuals and laboratory policies
- Provides phlebotomy procedure for all age groups
- Performs quality control according to established policies and procedures, documenting all outliers with corrective action
- Reviews patient results and documents all actions taken
- Performs all computer functions relating to entering and retrieving patient data
- Inventories, orders, receive, inspects and documents receipt of supplies, instrument parts and stores in the correct areas
