Job Duties:

  • Oversees and directs, the overall planning of the psychiatric/medical care and treatment of clients, and has the final decision making authority on clinical matters effecting their care and welfare. Advocates on behalf of client, and links with systems and services to meet identified needs.
  • Monitors revenue and expense reports of program and institutes corrective action as appropriate to ensure compliance with budgetary goals.
  • Monitors productivity of program staff on an ongoing basis and institutes corrective action to ensure compliance. Ensures programmatic goals and objectives are met and institutes corrective action.
  • Executes aspects of administrative responsibilities (timesheets, time off requests, project timelines, etc.) in a detailed and timely manner.
  • Meet Administration sharing Agency initiatives and processes.
  • Contributes ideas for brainstorming sessions and participates in new service initiatives.
  • Provides direct diagnostic assessments and evaluation and implements treatment plans for clients as required.
  • Completes all documentation (clinical documents, service worksheets, time sheets, reports, grants, etc.). Assures appropriate documentation for contract and system requirements. Trains and educates staff on timely and accurate data submission, process completion and policy protocols.
  • Provides clinical in-service training to center professionals and paraprofessional staff as requested.
  • Reviews clinical records for quality, quantity and performance; advocates on behalf of client and links with systems and services to meet identified needs and provides feedback to staff.
  • Oversees and directs the development of policies and procedures for the specific program and agency to ensure quality care and compliance with funder/payer or accreditation body. Provides leadership and guidance for staff through appropriate utilization and implementation of the policies and procedures. Participates in management team and QIC efforts to revise trends in agency and industry, and plan for the future of the agency.
  • Participates in and co-chairs Client Care Committee
  • Completes meaningful performance evaluations with staff that relates to core competencies, specific job assignments and areas for growth. Establishes individualized productivity goals with each employee. Accurately assesses staff training and supervision needs/assures training and supervision process
  • Ensures the flow of information both horizontally and vertically to better utilize resources and increase equality and productivity of the program.
  • Promotes effective teamwork adequate to the competitive environment, including flexibility, creativity and cohesiveness.
  • Supervises all psychiatric medical providers and accurately documents supervisory sessions
  • Uses supervision techniques, which are effective in establishing the desired organizational climate of trust, creativity and autonomy; uses sound methods of independent and cooperative decision-making. Uses data in supervision in a way that is easily understood by staff and that is practical and readily useable. Also, recognizes and makes accommodations for the work duties and extra assignments. Is aware of employees individual needs and desires and attempts to meet these needs as appropriate. Offers encouragement and praise on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited medical school with a specialty in psychiatry. Licensed to practice in the State of Florida.

Licensure: Licensed as MD in State of Florida

Experience: Two years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting working with mentally ill clients. Two years of supervisory experience required.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to complete a level II background screening and pre-employment drug test in compliance with Florida Law. Must be at least 21 year of age. Must be able to provide official transcripts.
