Florida ENT & Allergy, a division of ENT & Allergy Associates of Florida, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. Florida E.N.T. & Allergy is a fast-growing medical practice with 13 locations in the Tampa Bay Area. Our current position is in our Westchase office.

Duties:

Reconcile existing information for established patients manually or via patient portal. i.e. past medical history, current medications, surgeries, and family history.

Accompany physician with the patient in the examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.

Provide briefing of each patient prior to physician entering the exam room.

Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

Properly document procedures performed by the physician

Reviews charts at the end of patient encounters, verifying accuracy before physician signs off on chart note. Identify any discrepancies and/or missing information.

Assist provider in exam rooms for procedures as needed (i.e. wax removal, biopsies, surgical procedures, etc.) obtaining proper consent forms, and ensuring the proper scope of practice is followed.

Room patients in an efficient manner to maximize clinical-flow, triage patients, take vital signs, and enter the required information into the patient’s EHR account (i.e. Chief Compliant, Patient’s Clipboard, Medication List, Allergies, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

Working knowledge of medical terminology. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills. The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members. MUST have EMR experience.
