Job description

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become part of our team at Mid-Valley Gastroenterology! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep our GI practice running smoothly. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates a commitment to providing quality patient care.

Certified Medical Assistant required or those with at least 2 years of other experience in a healthcare setting who can be ABROE Certified are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Administrative tasks including medication refills, prior authorizations, coordinating labs and radiology
• Rooming patients in a timely manner, while accurately recording pertinent information in the EHR
• Schedules and assists during in-office procedures
• Accepts and returns patient phone calls in a timely manner, relays test results and recommendations per provider direction

Qualifications:

• MA Certified or ABROE Qualified - with previous experience in healthcare or other related fields
• Familiarity with medical terminology and human anatomy
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Commitment to working on a team and maintaining a positive work environment

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Medical Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
• MA Certified or ABROE (Preferred)
