We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join South Shore’s urgent care division, Health Express. Health Express offers walk-in urgent care for injuries and illnesses that require the attention of a doctor but don't necessarily require a trip to the Emergency Department. From the flu to a fever, dehydration to sprains or fractures, Health Express provides care for injuries and illnesses, physicals, lab work, x-ray services, occupational medicine and more.

Responsibilities:

· Support the practice by maintaining efficiency of patient flow by rooming patients, coordinating room rotations and developing and communicating unit schedules

· Take necessary vital signs and measurements, perform phlebotomy as needed, administer vaccines and perform various treatments and procedures

· Maintain patients’ rooms by ensuring all rooms are set up and stocked and instruments and equipment are cleaned and sterilized

· Assist the administrative team in greeting patients, scheduling appointments, processing orders, collecting encounter forms and answering telephones

· Receive test results for physicians and follow-up with patients

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

· Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.

· Experience in a clinical setting preferred

· BLS - Basic Life Support

· Certified Medical Assistant certificate preferred
