Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR’s Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.

We are hiring a Mechanical Designer or EIT to work at our client site at MacDill Air Force Base.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications on MacDill AFB
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
• Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
• Due to client contract requirements only candidates with US Citizenship will be considered for this position as permitted pursuant to section 247(a)(2)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act
• This position is subject to a governmental background check; due to client contract requirements only candidates with US citizenship will be considered for this position as permitted pursuant to section 274B(a)(2)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience is a plus
• EIT or the ability to obtain one within 12 months. Candidate hired without their EIT will have the title of Mechanical Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
