Raw Material Planner
Primary Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Purchasing Planning
- Tracking Supplier confirmations
- Creating purchase orders in accordance to demand in MRP system
- Revising Purchases orders to align with change in demand
- Escalating material shortages to Procurement
- Advising scheduling of any delays
- Create STO's for interplant shipments
- Manage short/late/overdue purchase orders
- Maintaining proper MRP settings within SAP
- Maintain and monitor inventory level to achieve
- Collaborate with Quality, Technical and Production on supplier quality issues
- Issue SCAR's as needed for supplier improvements
- Reconcile invoice/payments issues through Webcycle process
- Cross train all roles within group for coverage.
- Participation, meeting attendance
- Attend and contribute to internal Axalta meetings with key team members as required
- Attend Core Role meetings (Site or Personnel) if assigned.
- Meet with suppliers on-site as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Experience with MRP/ERP software (SAP preferred)
- Experience in planning in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to learn new systems readily and quickly
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional areas including manufacturing, SC, procurement, customer service and finance to achieve shared goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end procured planning and logistics.
- Undergraduate in business, marketing, supply chain, or;
- 3-5 years’ professional experience within supply chain, procurement and/or operations
Overview
This role is responsible for all supply planning and procurement activities supporting assigned raw material categories within the Building Products supply chain. Responsible for maintaining steady flow of raw materials necessary to support production schedule, tracking shipments, communicating material shortages with Scheduling and Procurement, as well as maintaining inventory levels defined by weeks of supply.
