Area of responsibility:
- Perform basic quality control checks including weighting, package counts, and evaluating product or package appearance.
- Examine and inspect containers, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
- Fold and tape boxes, apply labels, and prepare boxes for shipment according to direction.
- Prepare shipments by banding and weighing.
- Load and unload packages from trucks; receive parts into inventory.
- Drive a forklift.
- Perform activities planned by others.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies.
- Repackage/restock product.
About you
- Detail oriented and possess great communication skills as well as time management skills
- Ability to write to record basic information.
- Knowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic.
- Manual dexterity.
- Basic computer skills, MS Office, SAP
- Ability to carry out one- or two-step tasks (transport, stack, weigh, etc.).
- Knowledge of and ability to solve problems that have standard solutions.
- Ability to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Safety mind set.
- Reliable
- Railway shipping experience is plus
- Warehouse: 5 years
- Valid driver’s license.
- Forklift and pallet jack experience
- Knowledge of moving trailers (45-53 ft.), CDL is plus
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Trackmobile & yard jockey is a plus
