Position Summary:
The Material Handler 1 is responsible for moving products using a forklift/pallet jack within the warehouse. This position is exposed to multiple refrigerated areas within production.

What you will Do:
  • Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, HACCP & Sanitation guidelines and processes.
  • Move products and/or pallets from one location to another using a forklift or pallet jack.
  • Maintenance of the trash dock. Clean/sanitize the compactor and surrounding dock area. Empty trash compactors when full.
  • Monitor trash dumpsters to ensure items/products are being disposed of properly. Bail plastic and cardboard materials to load onto trailer.
  • Monitor inventory of iGPS and wooden pallets and report to the Sanitation Coordinator/Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will Need:
  • GED/High School Diploma.
  • 1 year of forklift experience (some positions require stand-up forklift experience).
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to multi-task and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Physical Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to perform repetitive movements. The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
