Overview:
Beitzel Corporation is an Industrial Construction and Service Company with nearly 50 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.

Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Material Handler. The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, placing and managing the flow of materials into and out of the Beitzel Fabrication and Machine Shop. This position will coordinate with the Bittinger Fabrication facility and Grantsville Fabrication / Machining facility to ensure materials and/or inventory are supplied to the individual workstations for additional processing as required and then placed into “ready for production” area to maintain workflow. This position will be responsible for maintaining an organized processed parts inventory and for providing logistic management and documentation. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, like MS Excel and office equipment. The Material Handler must possess the knowledge, experience and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced office environment.

This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial production as well as reading fabrication / machining production drawings and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed. The Material Handler will report to the Shop Foreman and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Fabrication Shop located in Bittinger, MD and/or the Beitzel Fabrication and Machining shop located at Grantsville, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day to day Fabrication / Machine Shop inventory operation
  • Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
  • Utilize forklifts to load, unload and move supplies
  • Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
  • Open bales, crates and other containers
  • Deliver product from one station to another to facilitate efficient and timely workflow
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, or other shop related equipment
  • Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory
  • Prepare parcels for mailing and/or shipping
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat
  • Organize storage and work areas for ease of access and identification of product.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years previous warehouse experience preferred
  • Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
  • Dependable and Reliable
  • Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required
  • Certified in the use of Forklifts preferred but not required
  • Intermediate computer skills
Working Conditions
  • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and turn tools; reach and extend hands and arms; crawl, kneel and lay
  • The employee will frequent lift, handle and maneuver parts and tools and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
  • Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
  • Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal shoes, protective eye wear, hard hat, hearing protection, protective goggles, masks, face shields, welding gloves, etc.
  • Work outside in harsh weather conditions
