The Marina Forklift Driver/Crew Member is responsible for assistance with the daily marina tasks which includes helping to ensure our marina operations run smoothly and that our guests' expectations for a welcoming, clean and safe environment are met and exceeded.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Assists Marina Crew Leader and other Marina Crew Members in marina related duties such as securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (power, water), black water pump out, waste disposal and facility sanitation.

•Proper and safe operation of the forklift and/or travel lift to ensure safe and timely moving, blocking and placement of all vessels on the yard, service facility and in water •Properly secure vessels to docks, seawalls, etc

  • Proper and safe use of slings/shackles ensuring safe movements
  • Checks equipment daily for proper fluid levels and general operation including hydraulic lines and hydraulic fittings, forks and straps condition, report any maintenance/repair issues to management
  • Provide the highest level of customer and guest services by expediting all requests from vessels including transport of patrons and baggage to and from dockside and delivery of provisions and packages.

•Light maintenance duties when needed at the Marina •Routinely operate motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and sanitation policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Education and Experience

•Minimum 1 year of marina forklift experience is preferred

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets
  • Reliable with good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with teammates
  • Enjoys working with the public to provide exceptional customer service
  • Adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must enjoy working outdoors

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to swim
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions.
  • General seamanship knowledge, boating right of ways rules, basic navigation, and inshore and offshore mooring techniques.
  • Work tasks may be performed both indoors and outdoors.

Physical Demands: Physical abilities required for job.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, reaching, bending, turning, and stooping,
  • Outside work for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
  • Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
  • Must be comfortable using all dock equipment and materials (gas pump, boats, ropes, anchors, among others).

Work Environment

  • Outside work for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
  • Work tasks may be performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • Working in wet and slippery conditions. Frequently working in an outdoor, hot, and damp environment.
