Description

gener8tor seeks a Managing Director to lead our programming in Las Vegas. These programs consist of one gBETA program and one gener8tor Investment Accelerator based in Las Vegas, annually.

gener8tor’s turnkey platform for the creative economy connects startup founders, musicians, artists, investors, universities and corporations. The gener8tor platform includes pre- accelerators, accelerators, corporate programming, conferences and fellowships.

gener8tor’s Investment Accelerator programs invest $100K in each of five, high-growth startups and provide 12 weeks of mentorship-driven, cohort-based programming.

gBETA is a free, seven-week pre-accelerator that helps early-stage startups build their company, meet mentors and pitch investors.

Responsibilities

• Recruit startup applicants and lead the due diligence and selection process for one annual gener8tor Investment Accelerator cohort and one annual gBETA cohort.
• Find and develop relationships with mentors, investors and others who can help support the programs and participating companies.
• Plan logistics, engage with the network, execute the accelerator programs and other related activities.
• Act as the lead mentor for, and continuously field updates from and support cohort participants, including post-program.
• Build relationships with ecosystem partners and engage in the broader Las Vegas and Nevada startup communities. Think of yourself as the unofficial “Startup Mayor” of Las Vegas!
• Coordinate and collaborate with gener8tor staff and external program partners.
• Provide reporting for and manage elements of account management with external program partners.
• Collaborate with other members of the gener8tor team to support our national programs.
• Assist alumni with ongoing mentor, sponsor and investor relations following the program.
• Be the #1 cheerleader for the Las Vegas and Nevada startup ecosystems and the startups and entrepreneurs we work with.

Requirements

• Entrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter. Experience as a founder, employee in a venture-backed company or in venture capital recommended.
• Total devotion to Las Vegas and the Las Vegas startup ecosystem.
• Collaborative, team-based mindset. You will be working closely with other Managing Directors, founders, external program partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and external relationships.
• Willingness to intensively and rapidly dive deeper into the startup and venture capital communities even if already familiar.
• Flexibility to travel up to 25%, work some nights and weekends.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A “no job is beneath me” mentality.
• Commitment to equity across race, place and gender.
