Working in the Communications and Community Relations group, the Social Impact Manager leads Phillips 66’s employee giving programs, scholarship programs, social impact/charitable giving and supporting partnership activations. The goal of the Social Impact team is to create business and social value that drives corporate reputation, employee engagement, competitive differentiation, and social change.

Requirements May Include

Lead and direct the company’s Social Impact agenda by performing stakeholder research and knowledge, strategic philanthropy, corporate sponsorships, community relations, employee engagement and volunteerism

Drive a strategic focus on integrated planning and outreach to drive stakeholder support for company goals

Lead social impact team and work with field community relations team to execute a large charitable giving and employee volunteer efforts across the United States

Work closely with the President, CEO and members of the Executive Leadership team to coordinate volunteer/board of director memberships as well as coordinate events that they would be attending

Manage the company’s Matching Gift Program and Volunteer Grants Program, including review and approval of submissions, resolution of issues that arise with nonprofit organizations, employees, retirees and board of directors, and communication of program guidelines and deadlines. Increase internal communications and program growth

Oversee the company’s scholarship programs

Provide quarterly reports for internal and external communication of matching gifts, volunteer grants and company scholarship programs

Manage relationship with the company’s third-party social impact software program

Support the United Way Campaign with pledge payments, campaign reports and monthly payroll deduction reports and approvals

Responsible for corporate membership payments and lobbying reports

Assist with new initiatives and other requests as directed

Required Qualifications

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

12 or more years experience in strategy development, communications planning and delivery and corporate social responsibility practices in a corporate setting

Sophisticated understanding of how to integrate reputation and corporate social responsibility practices directly into the company’s business goals

Able to work successfully within a large and complex organization and with people of diverse functional backgrounds

Business acumen and strong knowledge of industry, stakeholder and community issues

Proven ability to forge partnerships and initiatives with diverse internal and external constituents

Exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational, management and supervisory skills including the ability to effectively lead a team, motivate others and lead complex initiatives and project teams

Strong leadership skills – with the ability to work with all levels of an organization

Ability to represent company at external events and forums that are often outside of normal business operating hours – either as a sole representative or supporting and accompanying executive leaders
