Overview:
The Payroll Manager will manage the end-to-end payroll process, seek creative opportunities for improvement, and partner with leaders and teams across the company on payroll related matters. The Payroll Manager is a vital member of our Finance department and will oversee the payroll process for our approximately 20,000 employees located in the U.S, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing and assist with exempt and non-exempt payroll transactions on a periodic basis.
  • Assist with internal/external payroll audits and compliance reporting including 401(k) and Workers Compensation
  • Strong multi-state tax and payroll compliance experience
  • Reconcile and validate payroll data prior to Ceridian’s transmissions.
  • Audits payroll information for accuracy and reconciles payroll deposits and wage garnishments.
  • Ensure all off-cycle, special payroll runs, bonuses, and incentives are processed.
  • Works closely with Human Resources to ensure a seamless employee experience.
  • Perform periodic audits of employee salaries, deductions, and taxes.
  • Liaison to Accounting and Finance on all payroll related matters.
  • Make recommendations and implement approved internal process changes as required.
  • Manage wage, tax adjustments and W2 corrections.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll procedure manual.
  • Investigates lost and misplaced payroll checks; coordinates stop payment activities with the finance department.
  • Ensures all tax filings including W2 distribution are completed accurately and within mandated timelines.
  • Remains current on new legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll. Enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on required actions.
  • Ensure child support, wage garnishment, and other payroll related court orders are processed as needed.
  • Assists with developing and implementing payroll-related policies and procedures and participating in continuous improvement measures within Payroll.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties and assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of payroll management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Associates degree or professional certification (e.g., CPP) in payroll or related field a plus
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Travel may be required, based on business needs.
  • Adhere to regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
  • Ability to reach at or below shoulder level
  • Ability to carry equipment, moving boxes/samples, etc
