The manager of retail product and donations manages the supply operations program for Goodwill retail locations based out of the Boise warehouse. This position will ensure sufficient donations for retail locations, identifies key businesses, groups, and organizations for product acquisition to support retail growth, and will develop strategies to generate donations. This position will utilize the Retail Metrics application to track inventory, identify areas of opportunities or concern, and management activities to guide future activities and effectiveness. This position will be responsible for facilitation and oversight of donation events in all retail areas.

The manager of retail product and donations will facilitate internal retail communications ensuring weekly compilation and circulation. This position is responsible for the oversight of established Attended Donation Centers (ADCs) including supervision of team members, in conjunction with warehouse management. The manager of retail product and donations will identify potential ADC locations in needed markets, and will develop written policies and best practices for locations.

The manager of retail product and donations will assist stores in creating and maintaining best practices and/or procedures for donation doors to maximize opportunities. This will include process and problem-solving, identifying opportunities to collaborate with warehouse operations, managing unique site needs, and resolving obstacles to keeping the donation lanes open. This position will establish minimum and maximum inventory levels per location, including active inventory tracking and plans for product transfers that meet both retail and post-retail needs. Other duties may include but are not limited to Community Relations specific to retail, facilitate retail events in conjunction with new stores, and coordinate transportation as appropriate for retail stores.

Requirements

  • Understanding of community needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to utilize Excel to create mathematical formulas and compare data.
  • Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.
  • Must be able to work independently to achieve goals and outcomes.
  • Must have good driving record and valid drivers’ license.
  • Budgeting and strategic planning skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
  • Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.
  • Able to lift and carry 20-100 pounds with team lifting or mechanical assistance
  • Able to stand, stoop, bend, or carry for extended periods
  • Able to go up and down steps
  • Tolerance of extreme changes in temperature and humidity
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends or longer shifts if needed. May be required to work more than 40 hours per week
  • Overnight travel is a requirement

Experience

  • High School/Equivalent
  • Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years
  • Leadership experience preferred
