Job Summary:

The Manager of Grants & Database Administration plays a critical role in the team’s grant and database operations by: researching and securing grant opportunities: coordinating grant analysis, writing and reporting; using the donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT) to produce reports and provide analysis; and identifying and tracking current and potential individual donors, corporations, and foundations.


Essential Functions:

  • Research, identify, prioritize, pursue, and secure grant funding opportunities using the Instrumental platform and other online tools
  • Generate revenue through timely submissions of well-written and documented grant proposals to foundation, corporate, and government funders
  • Manage grants received, which includes entering and managing grants, logging relevant communications, maintaining grant documentation, and ensuring timely reporting
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, and other departments for identifying and writing grant proposals as well as for grant reporting
  • Lead donor database operations, including data integrity, analysis and reporting
  • Research giving potential of donors using WealthEngine, and provide data-driven cultivation strategies
  • Work with the development team to create annual goals, strategies, and tactics to increase funding and expand revenue streams
  • Promote and support data-driven decision making within the department
  • Provide other support for the team as needed such as for gift entries, other reporting, special events, and communications tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines for a wide variety of job assignments simultaneously, with minimum supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and administrative ability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as online research
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
  • Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot and follow projects through to completion
  • Desire to learn, develop, and grow grant writing and database management skills
  • Grant writing, grant management, and prospecting research experience (preferred)
  • Database operations experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT (preferred)
