Objective: The Genetic and Multiplication Manager will support multiplication farm TEAMS assisting them in the capture and utilization of data as well as the adherence to processes consistent with standards that meet the needs of the company. This will be accomplished by routine validation of on-farm data, review of our database reports and data driven audits of farm practices to maintain adherence to established protocols.

The position will work closely with team members of the farms, geneticists, technical, and production teams to design data collection processes, provide essential training, oversight, coaching, troubleshooting, and general technical support to those involved with the data collection process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsibility for working in the multiplication system to support data integrity and collection processes at farrow-to-wean sites.

• Participate in and provide support to the team for the development and execution of protocols for the genetic program including providing innovative ideas for improved accuracy or efficiency of current and future protocols.

• Provide formal and informal training to new and current team members on data collection processes used to gather information vital to the genetic program.

• Ensure that protocols are implemented consistently at all sites and identify opportunities for improvement in processes and maintaining consistency across farms.

• Communicating and reiterating the vision and direction of the program and constantly improving the understanding of the teams relative to their contribution to the overall goals

• Review and confirm all gilt orders with internal teams and customers.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitor availability of all genetic lines and provide availability updates as needed.

• Creating buy-in of team members to the ideas and protocols to further the goals of genetic program.

• Provide technical support to the farm team for the collection, upload, and retrieval of data.

• Work effectively as part of a team to guide the data collection and validation process.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Degree in agriculture or equivalent experience.

Experience: 2-5 years’ experience in Genetics
