About the role

This Manager, position will play a critical role in managing the accounts receivable and cash application operations for the Device and Platform businesses. Additionally, this Manager position will play a critical role in driving the invoiced revenue collection operations for the Devices businesses, including our Retail and Distributor customers. It will require collaboration with multiple teams including Sales, Operations, Revenue, Technical Accounting, Tax, Legal, and Enterprise Engineering. Cross functional projects will be an integral part of this job, both domestically and globally. We are looking for people ready to lead by example, be selfless in your leadership across teams, collaborate with your peers, and partner with colleagues and external partners.

You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive programs with the product and commercial teams within Roku and across external strategic partner organizations. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and drive world-class collection processes and performance with numerous strategic Client customers
  • Provide deduction management support for Devices’ Sales programs (rebates, promotions, non-compliance, etc.)
  • Research Customers’ debit & credit memos, working to validate and/or action and resolve issues.
  • Review and process billing/credit requests from Sales & Sales support teams
  • Research unidentified/unapplied cash receipts and resolve issues
  • Oversee and drive all regular trade AR billing processes, including Roku’s Third-Party Billing processes
  • Help to oversee and manage regular cash reporting
  • Act with swift resolution in a Manager role for global internal stakeholders related to any AR Support, cash application or collection issues to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution to their questions or concerns
  • Partner with the Sales & Sales Ops teams to resolve customer issues and collaborate with them respectfully on business process improvement
  • Help to oversee and manage process improvement initiatives and system enhancements to ensure that requirements are met and/or work is efficiently enhanced
  • Drive continual automation and measurement against critical cash collection metrics, operational goals and reporting of KPIs
  • Participate in projects for testing and validation of core system enhancements
  • Review customer portals and download/analyze appropriate information
  • Perform effectively in a high-volume and fast paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and productivity
  • Support monthly and quarter-end financial reporting

  • Promote customer goodwill through professional accounts receivable, cash application, and collections support and relationship building
  • Provide training and documentation support for internal Sales & Sales Ops team members on accounts receivable support and cash application processes
  • Managerial ownership of audit and compliance activities as assigned
  • Support key controls and audit compliance activities in relation to accounts receivable support, cash applications support, and Devices collection support, while always ensuring integrity and compliance standards

We’re excited if you have

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in B2B customer finance and related accounting activities (B2B collections, AR support, cash applications, and SOXs)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related (an MBA is a plus)
  • Strong working knowledge of Retail/Distribution Industry (including accounting & revenue implications)
  • Experience in establishing order-to-cash accounting processes in a worldwide setting
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and assertive approach to managing tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete work with speed and accuracy – as well as drive best-in-class performance from team members.
  • Resourceful, creative, and comfortable with varied job responsibilities
  • Able to drive continuous improvement for self & team
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the chargeback process resulting in the quick and timely resolutions of deductions
  • Analytical mindset with an emphasis on building and designing scalable processes
  • Extraordinary teamwork, business relationship and collaboration skills needed
  • Proactive and assertive approach to managing tasks and responsibilities
  • Comfortable approach to working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment where you are willing to work hands-on
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Experience supporting Sales/Sales Ops team(s) by actively seeking and developing partnership, understanding the business requirements and ensuring communication is maintained at the highest standards
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Oracle NetSuite or High Radius ERP experience not required but a plus
  • Project management experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Self-Motivated and Resourceful
