This position works directly with the AVP EIM, as well as WVU Health System (WVUHS) leadership (CFO, VPs, and Enterprise Directors) to identify and implement strategic projects, analyze data to support EIM teams. This position has primary responsibility for ensuring that all EIM strategic projects are done on time and within the specified budget. The position contributes to meeting the goals of the WVU Health System and local level EIM Leadership and CFO’s. These goals include the integration of various business functions, implementation of new business opportunities, improving quality of care and driving down costs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Information, Health Informatics, Finance, Communications or related field required AND 3 years of experience in project management. RHIA credential if degree in Health Information or Health Informatics is required. -OR-

Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Information, Health Informatics, Finance, Communications or related field required AND 5 years of experience in project management. RHIT credential if degree in Health Information or Health Informatics is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Health Information, Health Informatics, Finance, Communications or related field and Master’s Degree.

2. Project Management Professional or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

EXPERIENCE:

1. 5 years or more in management or project management role.

2. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Project and Visio

3. 1 year experience with EPIC

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Assists AVP of EIM and WVUHS Leadership in defining and documenting the scope, goals and objectives of a specific project including milestones (completion of project charter)

2. Assists AVP, Directors, and other Project Managers in developing comprehensive project plans, including action steps, resources, interdependencies, stakeholder analyses and identification of key performance indicators

3. Ensures that project plans are accurately captured and documented to permit precise monitoring and tracking of each initiative's progress

4. Ensures that the designated project is proceeding according to agreed upon timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters (negotiates all changes in project scope)

5. Schedules project and acquisition meetings and prioritizes as needed, and exercising judgment concerning importance and sensitivity of persons and issues, as observed by EIM Leadership.

6. Ensures that the designated project is proceeding according to agreed upon timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters (negotiates all changes in project scope)

7. Develops and maintains project management methodology for EIM including dashboards and metrics for all KPIs by division

8. Provides oversight for the development of relevant project proposals and budgets.

9. Directs project review sessions with Directors and other project leaders in order to monitor progress against timelines, including issue audits and mitigation steps. Documents project plan progress.

10. Prepares progress reports for leadership that outline implementation status, key issues and barriers that impact progress of initiatives

11. Identifies and develops working relationships with constituencies at all levels; ensures that constituent representatives are kept appropriately informed of project activities and are encouraged to participate as appropriate.

13. Advises project teams representing constituent needs regarding cross-functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimization of best practices

14. Serves as Project Manager or Program Director on large scale initiatives as assigned and serves as analytics liaison to EIM leadership.
