JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing various duties to repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and complete routine and preventive maintenance tasks at our apartment communities. The Make Ready Tech works on a team and is provided extensive support to achieve optimal property performance.

We are a fix it right, fix it the first time, preventive maintenance focused company. We do not believe in shortcuts, shortsightedness, and quick fixes. We are looking for a Maintenance Tech that shares our philosophy.

Some ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Shares our values including: treating residents and teammates like we want to be treated, having a long-term focus, being trustworthy and committed.
• Quickly and effectively responds to resident requests for maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance and other tasks.
• Has a preventive maintenance orientation, able to perform a systematic program of preventive maintenance; believes that maintaining a property proactively is better than constantly responding to emergencies.
• Operates with a safety-first mindset and safe actions
• Diagnoses and repairs items in a high-quality and time-sensitive manner
• Willing to go the extra mile for residents and one's team
• Works well with others and alone.
• Skilled in various apartment maintenance functions: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, basic carpentry, drywall, and other apartment related maintenance functions.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of apartment units during operating hours and as-needed after hours when on-call.
• Maintains repair and preventive maintenance records

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
• Possesses a working knowledge of common tools (drills, pliers, snakes, tape measures, voltage meters, sanders, HVAC tools, etc.)
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Proven organizational skills
• Basic computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
• Requires manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including equipment such as parts, fittings, or other equipment as required by other assignments.
• Must be willing to work Overtime and “Mandatory Call-In” as needed or deemed necessary by management.

Pay range of $17-$23 per hour depending on years of experience, cultural fit, and supervisory capability.

Work Location: One location with possible occasional support at nearby property

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
