Description

The Maintenance Worker II position is responsible for performing general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds and associated equipment and performs other duties as assigned.

This job requires mandatory COVID 19 vaccination or an approved exemption in accordance with CMS-3415-IFC from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This means if appointed to the position, the applicant must have completed the primary vaccination series for COVID-19, which means the administration of a single-dose vaccine or the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine upon commencement of employment. The vaccine received must be one of the FDA-approved or FDA-authorized vaccines. Proof of vaccination will be required. If a medical or religious exemption is sought, the candidate must submit paperwork to the employer prior to appointment for review and approval.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assists the supervisor in the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment
- Performs the duties of maintaining and repairing plumbing and sewerage systems, electrical systems and associated equipment
- Makes carpentry repairs to buildings, paints surfaces and operates machinery and equipment

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: NONE
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, or mechanical maintenance experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
