Job description

We're looking for a general handyman who is experienced in facility maintenance to help us maintain our growing portfolio of long- and short-term rental properties. As of right now we have 65 properties, but plan on expanding very soon.

You must have a valid driver's license. This position will require regular travel in and around the DFW area. The bulk of our portfolio is in Arlington and the Sherman/Denison area; however, we have houses as far out as Gordonville, Granbury, Weatherford, Kaufman, Greenville, Denton, and Gainesville. You must be comfortable traveling regularly. If you drive your own vehicle, you will be paid for mileage in addition to your hourly rate.

Your day to day schedule will consist of a morning briefing with the property manager, then you will fulfill work orders. You will be expected to pick up the materials that you need, and also manage our storage facility and the inventory we hold at any given time.

You must have at least one year of experience in maintenance and have verifiable references. You must be comfortable with the following types of tasks

• Preventative maintenance
• Basic plumbing maintenance: clogged pipes, replace wax rings, caulking, garbage disposal replacement, etc.
• Basic electrician tasks: changing light fixtures or fans, installing appliances, etc.
• Basic carpentry: replacing interior or exterior doors, replacing door knobs, installing smart locks, replacing mail boxes, etc.
• HVAC maintenance

The more you're willing and able to do, the higher your pay will be. You must be able to prove you're actually able to do the work. For larger or more complex tasks, work may be subcontracted out.

You also may be asked to run tasks from time to time, including posting notices on doors, delivering packages for other departments, or other misc. tasks.

Your hours will be Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm. However, you will be on call outside of those hours, but only for emergency maintenance issues (burst pipe, lock out, etc) but will be paid appropriately depending on the exact tasks demanded of you. We strongly believe in a work-life balance and you will only be asked to work on your personal time if it's absolutely necessary.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
