Role Summary

Magna, Eagle Bend Manufacturing is hiring an experience Maintenance Technician to maintain and improve, at an advanced level, all equipment associated with PLC, Robotics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic installation, repair, and troubleshooting support to all areas of manufacturing. Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative.

Key Responsibilities

Must be able to perform complex repairs without supervision using mechanical equipment and/or hand tools. Read, modify, and make design changes to any mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical prints when needed


Advanced robotic knowledge, inclusive of:

  • Troubleshooting and repair of all associated robotic equipment
  • Advanced programming and interfacing with PLC
  • Interface peripheral equipment
  • Ability to learn new robotic systems


Advanced knowledge of PLC’s

  • Advanced programming
  • Interfacing with multiple networks
  • Ability to learn new controls and automated systems
  • Safety plc’s
  • Advanced knowledge of automated Resistance welding equipment


Advanced knowledge of Hydraulic Theory and application associated with Press equipment

Troubleshoot electrical control systems

Willingness and ability to learn and maintain new equipment with new technology


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • 4 years minimum
  • Must be able to pass written skills test and practical skills test

  • Course work in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Pneumatic principal and theory

  • Experience in maintaining and improving fully automated assembly equipment (Assembly Technician).

  • Experience in maintaining and improving Hydraulic and Mechanical Presses and all associated equipment (Press Technician).

  • Individual must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others’ safety
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to use precise measuring equipment
  • Basic math skills required
  • Excellent teamwork skills required
  • Individual to be mechanically inclined, self-motivated and reliable; ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Individual must furnish basic personal tools for use at work
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required.


Equipment/Tools:

  • Hand tools and test equipment
  • Portable welding and grinding equipment
  • Drills, saws, ladders, & machine shop equipment
  • Forklift, genie boom, & overhead crane
  • Precise measuring equipment

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to move throughout the plant
  • Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. may be required
  • Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required
