Job description
Tazewell County, Illinois is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and collaborative individual to serve as a Part-Time Maintenance Technician.
Under the direct supervision and direction of the Buildings and Grounds Facilities Director, the Maintenance Technician performs routine preventative maintenance and repair procedures on county buildings as well as responsible for delivery of cleaning and office supplies to various departments. This is a full-time union position with a salary range of $13.02 to $15.27 per hour.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver copy paper and other office supplies as requested.
  • Unload trucks and assist with deliveries.
  • Clean the common areas of all county buildings.
  • Empty outside trash receptacles.
  • Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal and mowing, landscaping, trimming trees and lawn.
  • Move furniture and rearrange offices.
  • Painting office walls or other areas in county buildings as assigned.
  • Replace light bulbs and ballasts.
  • Responsible for and maintains recycling materials for the county.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), one (1) year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with maintenance duties
  • Ability to use lawn mowers, weed trimmers, snow blowers, push carts, mop buckets and any other equipment used in the Maintenance Department
  • Must have basic problem-solving skills and be able to handle multiple tasks with interruptions
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain confidentiality
  • Must have valid driver’s license
