Summary:

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining, modifying and performing routine and emergency repairs inside a DOT regulated facility.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
  • Perform physical labor related to maintenance of large pumps, motors, and valves
  • Maintain, repair, and operate equipment for pumps, pipeline controls, product terminals, and related facilities
  • Interpret and utilize drawings, schematics, loading/pump curves, OEM manuals, and other technical resources in the performance of assigned work
  • Effectively and safely use hand tools, power tools, and portable and mobile work equipment in hazardous, classified, and non-hazardous environments
  • Maintain equipment records, logs, inventory, and other documentation required by the Partnership’s procedures and regulatory agencies
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements, perform associated required tasks, and complete required documentation (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.)
  • Maintain facilities, grounds, and work areas in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner
  • Actively participate and provide leadership in safety programs and initiatives while following policies and procedures
  • Work weekends and respond to 24-hour one calls
  • Comply with partnership safety policies and procedures, and informs and enforces company rules and regulations on outside companies and contractors
  • Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO)
  • Take immediate measures in emergency situations to protect the safety of the public and the company's assets
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
Required Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving history
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy
  • The ability to acquire/hold a TWIC card
  • The ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines

  • The ability to work successfully in stressful situations and manage multiple tasks

  • The ability to take directions from supervisors

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group environment
  • Demonstrated self- starter with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgement
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and perform operation and maintenance tasks associated with various types of facilities and equipment
  • Proficiency with computers including applications such as Excel and Outlook as well as other computer-based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation
Working Conditions and Requirements:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions
  • Work may include confined spaces and may require heavy lifting up to 50lbs. with or without assistance
  • Must be able and willing to spend on average 90% of ones time on his/her feet
  • Work on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practices
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Reliable attendance at work

  • This position requires the employee to regularly access and work at or around heights in excess of 5 feet, moving mechanical parts, moving on-track rail equipment, petroleum product or other chemical fumes, airborne particles like dust or other chemicals, vibration, uneven terrain, and high noise levels in the work enviroment
