Job Requirements:

Engage in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, equipment and in maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems of a manufacturing plant or other establishment by performing the following duties personally or through other subordinates.

Responsibilities:

  • Works on work order requests from production floor and determines priority
  • Follows all safety and good manufacturing processes
  • Communicate to production and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs.
  • Communicate updates to incoming maintenance personnel on status of break downs, repairs and troubleshooting done during the previous shift.
  • Observes and listens to sounds of mechanical devices in operation to locate any signs of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Repairs or replaces effective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment and machinery.
  • Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, saws and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Repairs electrical equipment, including PC controllers.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate variable shifts from 8 – 12 hrs. depending on maintenance workload.
  • Available for on - call status.
  • Participates and trains with the Safety Team.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Education: High School diploma at minimum
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Forklift Certification
  • Have experience with the following: Hydraulics, electrical wiring (110, 220, 480), water pumps, industrial burners, tig welding, stick welding, and mig welding

industrial air compressors, carpentry skills, knowledge of gas applications.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to10 lbs. frequently lift and or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move up to 70lbs. The employee is regularly required to work at heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must also be able to work 8 hr. shifts regularly with occasional extended shifts not to exceed 12 hrs.

Mental Activities: While performing duties of this job the employee will frequently engage in teamwork. The employee will occasionally be required to use interpersonal and customer service skills. The employee will occasionally need to speak and write English.
