The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) has an opportunity for a Maintenance Planner in the Operations Division.

Duties: Champion in the development and tracking of capital asset life cycles, providing critical data for analyzing performance measurements, cost analysis, and reporting. The asset management program forms the foundation for long-term financial planning (a projection of future expenditures) that reconciles both the objectives of operations, maintenance, and capital budgeting, thus collectively contributing to prolonging the useful(economic) life of assets. The planning and maintenance of our capital assets must be systematic and data driven. Collecting current condition and performance data to better utilize limited resources in developing greater reliability from the Authority’s assets is essential to providing safe, reliable service. This position plays a key role in developing organizational strategies, understanding sustainability goals, and maintaining the Authority’s assets in a state of good repair. Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have an Associates' Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Research, Finance or a related field. The following experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate’s degree.

· High School Diploma and 4 years of additional related work experience

Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years in planning or assisting in the planning of vehicle or facility maintenance programs, projects, and other initiatives; parts identification and acquisitions involving vehicle and/or facility, electrical, mechanical and pressure systems and various functions found in a manufacturing, heavy equipment, and/or vehicle repair environment. Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively manage projects; and experience utilizing various software applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, Internet), inventory and/or maintenance tracking software applications, and report/query writing tools. Applicants must also have a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.

Preferred Requirements: A Bachelors’ Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, Research or related field is preferred, but not required for this position. Experience in rail or bus transportation environment, in addition to experience in facilities maintenance, or similar experience including, but not limited to: planning, electrical systems, plumbing, equipment overhaul, roofing, is also preferred, but not required for this position.

Environmental Conditions: This person will work in an office and garage type environment, but can be subjected to outside weather conditions, if required to work outside.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, lift up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, reach, kneel, crouch, balance, stand for periods greater than 30 minutes, climb, stoop, walk on uneven unpaved surfaces, sitting for periods greater than 30 minutes, handle, feel, talk, finger, and hear.

Mental Demands: Reading, communicating, copying, compiling, coordinating, analyzing, presenting, basic math skills, as well as ability to deal with a range of personalities and behaviors.

Selection Process: This is a non-bargaining exempt position. Merit system rules do not apply. No Eligible list will be established. The selection process will include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $56,920.00 per year
