As a Maintenance Planner for our Catalyst business unit, you will start a meaningful career and you will be responsible to plan and schedule maintenance activities/projects in the plant while implementing continuous improvements to the maintenance work processes with an unwavering commitment to workplace safety.


The Savannah plant in particular manufactures and operates the following products: fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts, co-catalysts and additives used by petroleum refiners to convert crude oil into gasoline, other transportation fuels, heating oil, and petrochemical feed stocks.


During your time as a Maintenance Planner, you will…


  • Plan, schedule, apply standards and coordinate services of planned maintenance and construction jobs to minimize costs and production downtime by the proper use of craft manpower, materials, and services.
  • Determine the manpower required for construction, major maintenance, and routine maintenance projects to properly utilize the resources in assigned areas. You will also plan major plant turnarounds.
  • Assume responsibility for the ordering and knowledge and whereabouts of the materials needed for planned jobs. You may also help by expediting material for emergency work.
  • Support and implement continuous improvements to the maintenance work processes to enhance plant availability and improve maintenance efficiency.
  • Maintain a job plan library for repetitive maintenance work.
  • Take corrective action for controllable problems, suggest safety practices, and evaluate data for improving maintenance costs.
  • Visit the job site and plan maintenance activities. This includes consideration and written plan of the materials, special tools, craft sequence, and time required to perform the job.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent


If you …


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial plant operation with regards to Mechanical Maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required.
