Position Details

As a Maintenance Worker in the Streets department, you’ll perform manual and skilled work in the maintenance of streets and storm sewer utility system. The Maintenace Worker values and people and perspectives by:
  • Building relationships with City Staff, Contractors, and Regulators.
  • Responding to calls and emergency situations in order to serve the public.

  • Use technology to aid in implementing maintenance goals.
  • Improve processes and find ways to optimize results.

  • Provide quality street maintenance operations.
  • Proactively seek continuing education opportunities.

What you'll bring to help you be successful

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years’ experience in general maintenance and repair work, of which one (1) year must be in the operation of heavy trucks and other types of equipment used in Public Works Street Maintenance including snow plowing.
  • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within 9 months.
  • Local government experience preferred.
