Our client is an industry leader in the manufacturing and assembly of premium roofing shingles. They are seeking qualified Maintenance Mechanics to maximize plant performance and run time through troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical equipment. This position is located in Kankakee, IL.

What you will be doing:

• Identifying and correcting all unsafe conditions and completing safety assessments of all work prior to starting any job
• Troubleshooting, monitoring, adjusting, maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the production facility and completing necessary work orders accurately and on time
• Diagnosing equipment operating issues and making required repairs
• Fabricating and welding tools or equipment when required

What you will need:

• Apprentice or Journeyman Classification
• Experience working as a Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Mechanic in a industrial manufacturing setting
• Proven experience maintaining a safe work environment with knowledge of LOTO procedures and other safe practices
• Millwright skills, welding and machining experience preferred
• Ability to properly disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble complex mechanical devices such as gearboxes, pumps and motors
• Ability to fabricate simple parts for corrective maintenance
• Must supply own hand tools appropriate to the equipment and environment
