Friendship Senior Options is currently hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic at its Friendship Village of Schaumburg location. Pool Status (as needed). Will provide skilled service in maintaining and repairing the minor structural, plumbing and electrical systems which make up the structural part of the building. Previous experience in building structure and systems required.
Essential Functions:
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, heating and mechanical systems, ceiling and floor structures, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment and HCC equipment
- Perform maintenance, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance in resident apartments, common areas, and office areas as required
- Replace or repair items such as: light bulbs, switches, outlets, appliances, windows, fans, carpets, filters, and other equipment as needed
- Assist other skilled trades in repairing, replacing, maintaining, and completing new installation of major structural components or major equipment
- Be able to do emergency repairs to prevent injuries and unnecessary damage to property
- Be able to work efficiently with various power and hand tools needed to perform maintenance work
- Rotate in an on call capacity as required, per the on call procedure
- Respond to all emergency situations as requested
- Follow all safety rules and maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform other duties as assigned
