Maintenance Manager at the Lanett Plant plans and oversees the maintenance of the physical structure, physical services, machinery, equipment and grounds. Ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations governing safety and environmental issues. Guiding and overseeing those capital projects related to the facility and equipment also responsible for all maintenance and tolling associates. Directly leads and manages 6 – 10 in the functional department. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities:
Exemplifies Berry Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Berry inside and outside of the plant.
Embodies commitment for a safe workplace and acts as a role model on safety leadership, activities and communication. Responsible for supporting and maintaining safety programs and policies and educating associates about safety.
Responsible for establishing, overseeing and auditing an effective preventative maintenance program.
Responsible for developing, implementing and auditing systems, which assure adequate inventory of maintenance and supply items.
Responsible for overseeing major repairs/upgrades to ensure completion in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Develop and adhere to operating budgets.
Responsible for coordinating vendor services, specifically: Grounds, maintenance, trash removal, hazardous waste removal, equipment repair/installation, and janitorial.
Responsible for maintaining accurate records and file reports as required by EPA, OSHA, SWOAPCA, ECT.
Responsible for establishing and auditing security systems and procedures.
Responsible for Plan and coordinate “project” responsibilities as assigned.
Ensure “quality workmanship” in all maintenance/capital projects.
Responsible for overseeing all personnel know and conduct sage machine operations to include Lock-out /tag out program.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Responsible for reviewing and approving associates time cards.
Responsible for maintaining and ensure personnel accuracy within systems and issuing corrective action notifications for program areas failing to meet the quality / delivery expectations.
Responsible for consistently evaluating / documenting personnel performance as needed.
Responsible for managing housekeeping of entire production area
Responsible for supervising, overseeing and directing all mold techs, team leaders, and machine operators in their daily performance of job duties as it pertains to their productivity, quality of product manufactured, housekeeping and safety.
Responsible for training assignments of new associates, evaluate progress during 90-days probationary period, recommends discharge or retention.
Responsible for: conducting all counseling and written warnings, suspensions and discharges for warranted violations of plant rules.
Responsible for managing all department employees, including but not limited to: approve or deny vacation requests, time card verification, monitor attendance and taken disciplinary action if necessary, accident investigation and assigning daily work assignments.
Responsible for ensuring that all hours worked by associates are accurate in the attendance system and verify all time cards of all hourly associates working on their shift.
In the event of an injury, for preparing all accidents reports by thoroughly investigating the accident. Interview all witnesses and see that the injured employee receives medical treatment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field preferred, and/or 5+ years of successful experience in an industrial maintenance manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience.
5 years plastic injection Molding equipment preferred
3-5 years supervisory experience
Extensive knowledge with electrical, hydraulic and injection molding machines
Strong PLC programming skills.
Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral and depth perception.
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills both verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors and customers.
Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying the ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
