Purpose:
Plans, directs and coordinates the maintenance activities of the plant, including establishing and carrying out a preventative maintenance program and the maintenance of all production and service equipment, buildings and grounds. Plans, specifies and recommends any equipment or facilities revisions or modifications. Initiates and follows through with capital projects. Work with production units to maintain and improve plant efficiency, productivity, and processes, as well as product quality. Coordinates all plant activities that involve the Division’s Engineering Group. Specify and directs activities of outside contractors and vendors.
Responsibilities:
  • Promote and support highest level of safety, both personally and with others.
  • Manages overall maintenance activities including planning, reporting, budgeting, inspections, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement for equipment performance.
  • Directs equipment or facilities modifications, revisions and upgrades.
  • Specifies and directs activities of outside vendors and contractors.
  • Manages maintenance activities of in-house personnel.
Qualifications:
  • A related B.S. degree such as electrical/mechanical engineering/technology.
  • Minimum four years engineering/maintenance related experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferably involving plastics and web handling type equipment
  • Preferred experience with Lean / 6 Sigma principles as applied to maintenance organizations.
  • Must be familiar with the operation of plastic processing equipment to include: extruders, blenders, winders, etc. Must also be familiar with office equipment to include computers, copies, and fax machine.
