Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.


Position Overview


We have a full time position available for a Maintenance Engineer/Electrician to join our team! The Maintenance Engineer constructs, repairs, and maintains furniture, equipment, HVAC, partitions, grounds, and other parts of hospital building using hand and power tools, as assigned.


Responsibilities


  • Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards
  • Inspects building and grounds to ensure conformance with established standards and regulations. Performs periodic inspections of buildings and makes recommendations on needed repairs, installation, etc
  • Performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, overhaul, and construction duties in all hospital buildings
  • Maintains, repairs and services hospital equipment, building and facilities
  • Works from blueprints and drawings in constructing and repairing woodwork
  • Constructs and maintains building woodwork such as bins, counters, benches, stairs and doors
  • Repairs articles of furniture such as cabinets, chairs, storage fixtures and office equipment. Repairs loose or broken joints
  • Oversees and works on projects involving the construction, alteration, or modification of buildings and facilities
  • Installs, maintains and repairs sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters and other plumbing fixtures
  • Performs tasks involved in operating, repairing, and maintaining boilers and related equipment
  • Requisitions lumber, hardware, and other supplies and equipment; maintains inventory of carpentry and painting tools and equipment
  • Completes assigned pm’s and work orders with a high standard of workmanship and on time
  • Works independently on jobs that only require one person
  • Exhibits good team player skills and gets along well with other team members
  • Exhibits flexibility, adapting readily to changes in the work environment or work schedule
  • Maintains positive attendance and communicate in advance any absences from work. Ensures coverage for all scheduled absences
  • Keeps work areas orderly, clean and safe. Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies
  • Actively participates in fire drills, emergency management drills, and security incidents as required
  • Performs other general maintenance activities, as directed

Qualifications


  • Minimum of two (2) years of hospital facilities/maintenance engineering related experience
  • HVAC experience preferred
  • Ability to be on-call, as needed
