Coordinate, schedule, and expedite the flow of maintenance work and materials to support plant maintenance functions including; compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems, as well as procurement of materials and services. The end goal is to minimize and/or eliminate recurring facility maintenance issues and equipment downtime, as well as manage Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) inventory levels and costs.

This is a 1st shift opening.
Responsibilities:

  • Enters all completed work orders and Preventive Maintenance/Total Productive Maintenance (PM/TPM) orders into MP2 Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and tracks completion data to measure results.
  • Manages inventory and helps with tracking and entering MRO parts usage to assure requisitions are initiated to keep the optimum amount of spare parts in stock and conducts inventories of critical spares and storerooms. Will be responsible for establishing an operating database in MP2 for storeroom inventory and work to improve storeroom management systems.
  • Receives inventory and processes receipts per Exide US Receiving Policy. Verifies parts received meet all quality requirements and promptly resolves deficiencies. Works with maintenance to assemble kits for preplanned projects. Operates mobile equipment as necessary to perform job tasks. Manages vendor managed inventory orders and receipts and insures all parts are properly stocked. Responsible for storeroom organization and cleanliness.
  • Obtain competitive quotes from vendors, process quotes into purchase requisitions, and present to maintenance staff for required approvals.
  • Works closely with management of different departments to establish workable schedules for PM/TPM activities and projects.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervision to create Preventive Maintenance Work Orders in MP2.
  • Works with purchasing to develop cost tracking spreadsheets and present to Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing events and assist with implementation.
  • Be willing to answer phone calls when not on the job.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of computer systems and programs such as: CMMS, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, JDE.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to give and share information to/with co-workers, customers, and production management in order to achieve optimum plant performance.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Good organization/administrative and time management skills.
  • High energy, self-motivated, ability to be successful without direct supervision.
  • Background in supplier quality management systems.
  • Capable of reading and understanding equipment manuals and blue prints.
  • Skilled in the operation of measurement tools including; tape measure, micrometers, snap gauges, etc.
  • Indiana driver’s license required.
  • Proficient at operating mobile equipment including forklifts and man lifts.
Preferred:
  • High School equivalent education and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in Maintenance related operations.
  • Four (4) years minimum experience in storeroom management.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to fumes, dust, airborne particles, noise, and extreme heat and humidity. While much work will be performed in an office setting, significant time will be required in the manufacturing facility, where additional exposure is likely. All employees are required to wear full face respirators inside the manufacturing facility.

Qualified candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb up and down ladders.
