We are looking for eager to learn and motivated individuals to join our Maintenance Apprenticeship Program!

Apprentices will learn Timberland Partners best practices and procedures concerning maintenance operations in the multi-family housing industry. Apprentices will learn how to conduct general property maintenance, address resident service requests, complete a perfect make-ready apartment, maintain curb appeal and amenities (such as a swimming pool, fitness center, sport court, clubhouse, dog park, etc.). Apprentices will also observe operations at various properties including class A, class B, new developments, etc. within the Twin Cities Metro area.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, normal office hours. Specific working hours will be determined in conjunction with the Maintenance Team Supervisor. Apprentices might also have the opportunity to work overtime and odd schedules.

Responsibilities:
(included, but are not limited to)

• Assist in completing maintenance requests and other community maintenance.
• Learn how to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, all major appliances, pool and spa equipment and other community systems.
• Learn the implication of Fair Housing regulations and treat all people fairly and consistently.
• Learn the make-ready process and follow through on direction from the Community Maintenance Supervisor to prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents.
• Assist with preventative maintenance.
• Participate in conducting inspections and ensuring tracking logs are kept current.
• Assist the community with maintaining curb appeal standards.
• Learn to maintain and address issues concerning the community amenities.
• Experience emergency maintenance procedures.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the inclusive and productive culture of Timberland Partners.
• Provide an outstanding living experience for our residents with exceptional customer service.
• Maintain a positive attitude when representing Timberland Partners to our customers and team members.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.
• Present a professional appearance and demeanor while on the job.
• Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred, college-level/trade school experience preferred.
• Ability to travel throughout the Twin Cities Metro area with reliable transportation.
• Basic computer and tablet proficiency preferred.

Physical Demands: Will be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, twisting, lifting, moving, carrying (light and heavy loads, 0lbs – 50lbs+), climbing stairs and ladders and walking on rooftops. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Must be able to use and wear required safety equipment.
