Job Description

• Maintains, repairs, and conducts preventative maintenance on material handling and building equipment in safe and efficient manner.
• Read and understand technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair/maintain equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.
• Work as a team member with operations and other technicians to support the facility in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
• Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
• Daily perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, banana room equipment, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.) according to procedures.
• Efficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule.
• Assist in developing a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Ensure an adequate inventory of necessary spare parts and materials is maintained
• Ensure work area is clean, secure and well maintained

Qualifications

• Three to five years electrical, mechanical and maintenance related experience is required
• Strong mechanical, welding, carpentry, plumbing and AC/DC electrical circuitry knowledge
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, as well as applicable knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, be detail oriented, meet department standards and perform duties without immediate and constant supervision
• Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace within the Distribution Center environment including walking, bending and lifting a minimum of 60 pounds is required
