Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for fabricating small quantity finished products, helping to drive sales of bedding finish product by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Schedules day to day VFF Work room.

• Handles and writes up all work orders, and applies knowledge and experience on materials in order to determine best construction for all product types.
• Sews the following products with quality: Decorative bed skirts, boxspring covers, bed scarves,comforters, decorative pillows, novelty and promotion items for trade shows, etc.
• Prepares hand charge for new project raw materials and submits to warehouse.
• Inspects raw materials prior to cutting.

• Recalls leftover raw materials to be returned to inventory weekly.

• Assembles finished products.

• Repairs products as needed and documents correction action.

• Repairs and alters products from different mills as needed.

• Develops, designs, or creates new applications, ideas in relationship to VFF products including patterns for seat covers and drapery Panels.

• Determines from experience and knowledge of materials approximate yardage

• Inputs data projects on workroom schedule.

• Records amount of time required for each assignment.

• Inspects finish products including taking photos prior to packaging and deliver to production associate for shipping.

• Assembles special product for VFF division’s (Production, Marketing, Sales and Design, Living Fresh, Government and tradeshows) as needed.

• Performs all daily routine sewing machine maintenance and adjustments to sewing machines, to include but not limited to: Threading, needle changing, cleaning and oiling machines.

• Trains over locking class.

Must be flexible to change priorities as needed and have a customer-friendly attitude cross-functionally.

Must be a great verbal communicator - professional demeanor at all times.

Frequently required to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, stand, cut, operate sewing machines, operate heating irons, sit for extended periods of time, walk.
