Job description

Make your mark. Our team focuses on helping our clients realize practical and transformative value from investments in analytics resources, technologies, and processes. From strategy to implementation and everything in between, our integrated solution and services approach is designed to help enable profitable growth and mitigate risk. The manufacturing and distribution (“M&D”) industry vertical is one of the largest at Plante Moran, and we are seeking an entrepreneurial, innovative, and experienced data consulting leader to join one of the fastest-growing areas of our management consulting practice.

What does diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to Plante Moran? It means that all staff members have equitable and fair opportunities to succeed, in an inclusive environment, with their individual, unique identities.

Plante Moran enjoys a “Workplace for Your Day” model which, simply put, means no one knows the best place for you to physically work better than you. Our staff choose their work location based on their individual day’s needs, and gives them the flexibility they need when they need it. If staff need to go into the office to collaborate, the space is there, and if they have a day where they need to focus alone, then staying home works just fine, too.

Your role.

  • Lead the execution and evolution of the M&D analytics go-to-market strategy for client maturity assessments, analytics-enabled business solutions and technology implementation projects.
  • Generate and lead full-cycle analytics consulting project activities for M&D clients, from lead generation through delivery.
  • Grow and develop a team of manufacturing analytics professionals and execute responsibilities for coaching, advising, and supervising their training and development.
  • Assist in the development and adoption of standards, processes, templates, and tools to support the profitable growth of our internal practice and increase the quality, impact, and time to value of manufacturing analytics solutions to our clients.
  • Provide thought leadership and pioneer innovation of analytics-enabled solutions to middle-market manufacturers, which will include maturing and leveraging existing investments in analytics as a service platforms and repeatable data models and BI assets.
  • Act as a liaison between Business Analytics service unit and other M&D industry niche and related management consulting practice unit leaders (e.g., Costing, Supply Chain, Operations Strategy, Planning & Forecasting, Organizational Talent & Development).

The qualifications.

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations and technology-enabled process improvement and business transformation, and analytics
  • Excellent practice and staff development skills, including the ability to drive a go to market plan execution to success
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills
  • High level of competency in facilitation, requirements gathering, business process analysis, executive presentations, project management and change management
  • Working understanding and passion for expanding best practice knowledge of data management, governance, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities
  • Manufacturing specific blueprint / solutions sales and delivery a plus
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MRP, CPQ, WMS, MES, CRM, MMS, PLC, SCADA) data structures and values/dimensions a plus
  • Moderate travel with approximately 20-40% overnight travel in the first 1-2 years to support staff and client relationship building required to scale an M&D analytics practice with national scope
