Job Type: Full-Time
Department: Freight Brokerage - (Logistics Supply Chain) Birmingham, Alabama
Competitive base salary $40,000.00- $50,000 per year plus monthly commission
Shift and Schedule: 8-hour shift Monday to Friday

Paul Transportation, Inc. is searching for a dynamic Logistics - Account Manager for our Brokerage division located in Birmingham, AL. we’re looking for an innovative and collaborative team member who is committed to solving our customers’ challenges and plays an active role in their achievements.

As a Logistics - Account Manager in the Transportation/ Brokerage industry, you will focus on managing and growing Paul Logistics' customer base by providing best-in-class transportation services through the management of customer shipping operations and customer relations and developing an individual portfolio through prospecting while becoming consultative in providing logistics solutions based on individual customer needs maintaining and growing through, high touch customer service, technology tools, and daily communication with customers while upholding Paul Logistics Guiding Principles.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build solid relationships with new and current customers and provide superior customer service.
  • Provide best-in-class service to assigned core customers through excellent communication with new and current customers daily to build solid, mutually beneficial relationships that provide long-term portfolio stability.

  • Be the customer’s internal advocate and ensure we are doing what we committed to doing, every time and with everyone.
  • Be an external advocate for Paul Logistics by keeping what is best for the customer and the company at the core of all that we do.
  • Forecast and monitor financial metrics (loads, revenue, margin, etc.) to ensure profitable growth.
  • Resolve issues and proactively address potentially problematic situations as they materialize.
  • Conduct quarterly (when necessary) and annual reviews with all current customers.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, marketplace conditions, and any other events that shape manufacturing and transportation.
  • Serve as the customer’s best source for industry information and marketplace conditions.
  • Partner with the capacity team to ensure freight is picked up, tracked, traced, and delivered successfully.
  • Build orders in our TMS, accept orders in our EDI environment, and use of customers’ web portals.
  • Document all meaningful or impactful interactions with customers in our CRM.
  • Utilize current pricing tools and follow pricing processes to secure transportation pricing for current customers.
  • Work with asset CSRs to understand what Paul Transportation's driver needs are for the week.
  • Work with supervisors, managers, and directors to ensure we consistently provide superior service to our customers and carrier partners.
  • Collaborate with upper management in planning for department goals, growth, and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful account management experience in 3PL/brokerage environment
  • 3-5 years experience in a managing/operations role at a freight brokerage with a demonstrable track record.
  • Mcleod Software experience
  • Knowledge of brokerage pricing, and current pricing tools.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to influence, and demonstrate sound business judgment
  • Superior customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, competitive team player with a huge desire to WIN
