Summary: Prepares capital equipment for shipment. Builds skids and crates. Uses cranes and forklifts as needed to pick upand set equipment on trucks. Protects equipment with padding and tarps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Protect & tarp equipment. Accurately record items on the pick list.
  • Operate a 5k, 9k, or 15k lift truck to transport equipment and use overhead cranes.
  • Take pictures of equipment loaded on trucks or placed in crates. Lists equipment part numbers on packing lists.
  • Use stairs, ladders or scissor lifts to secure equipment and use theoverhead crane.
  • Assist in the carpenter's shop as needed.
  • Decision Making

Knowledge, skills and/or abilities:

  • Knowledge of load distribution and DOT guidelines a plus.
  • Project Management Abilities.
  • Understands and works to priorities
  • Ability to operate Forklifts & cranes
  • Experience with Radial Arm Saw, Skill Saw, and Table Saws
  • Basic Computer skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to foster and work within a team environment
  • Actively participates in safety programs and complies with all Columbia safety policies
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects at one time
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet company needs
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED

1-3 Years experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
