Konnichiwa! We are searching for an experienced line cook in our high volume hibachi restaurant. We have been a staple in the community for TWO DECADES! Line cooks work in pairs to turn out a la carte items for the restaurant, to-go orders, as well as cooked seafood items for the sushi bar. Applicants must be familar with food preparation for patrons with allergies and must maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. Experience in preparation and delivery of Asian cuisine is a plus, but not a requirement. Pay will be based on experience with plenty of opportunity for growth. Applicants should be available both Saturday and Sunday as this is our highest volume. Must be able to take direction and work well in a team based atmosphere. We close at 10:00pm during the week and 10:30pm on Friday & Saturday. Starting time is fairly flexible, but shifts will start at or before 4:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, season, and cook a variety of dishes, such as soups, salads, entrees, and desserts, according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Follow food safety procedures and sanitation guidelines to ensure the kitchen is clean and safe.
• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared and presented in a timely and visually appealing manner.
• Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, even during stressful situations.

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a line cook or prep cook is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a hot, noisy environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $32,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
