2023-2024 School Year
Work under the guidance of a school library/media specialist. Ability to supervise and manage the school library/media center. Provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems. Provide an environment that invites students into the library prior to the school day, during the school day, and after school. Provide innovative programs for student engagement and real world interaction. Ensure that library/media center is involved in instructional programs of the school.
Job Requirements
Education/Certification/License/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree or two years of study at an institute of higher learning preferred
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate or meet the requirements for such a certificate
- Meet ESSA Highly Qualified Standards
- Demonstrated competency in the subject area assigned
- Expereince with students/children
- Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of library science and media preferred
- Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
- Ability to use technology equipment and train others in its use
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Climbing, stretching, frequent light lifting of books, boxes, equipment
