Boulder County Community Services department is seeking to hire a Bridges Liaison. The Bridges Liaison will provide direct service to behavioral health clients including: Coordinating with Jail mental health staff to identify and screen those with potential Behavioral Health issues. Provide information to the court in cases of severe mental illness. Coordinate State services for in-custody or community evaluation and restoration processes for the Incompetent to Proceed cases. Complete Behavioral Health screens with ordered clients to identify opportunities for engagement, effective interventions, and supports. Identify possible referrals for the Mental Health Diversion Program. Assist clients in identifying services to meet their needs both inside the Jail and in the community upon release. Ensure clients connect with service providers and basic need supports (i.e. Medicaid, Housing, etc.) and help to overcome obstacles to access resources.

This is a full-time, benefited position. This position will work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position will work out of the Justice Center (1777 6th Street), the Boulder County Jail (3200 Airport Road) located in Boulder, Colorado, and Boulder community. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.

Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Salary Range: $55,956.00 - $68,220.00 Annually

Tentative Hiring Timeline:


  • First Round Interviews: June 7th
  • Second Round Interviews: June 20th
  • Reference Checks: June 21st

Examples of Duties

  • Identify and reduce/eliminate barriers to improve long term outcomes for the ITP participants
  • Complete documentation on direct service with clients
  • Maintain records of screens and navigation services
  • Track clients progress with service providers
  • Monitor client progress with competency services
  • Maintain data on relevant key indicators to inform success of program and identify opportunities for practice improvement
  • Prepare reports to inform key stakeholders of progress
  • Abide by statutes pertaining to court reporting
  • Data collected and reports will be created to comply with the State Court Administrator’s Office recommendations and requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and community service providers
  • Identify service providers in the community as well as gaps in community resources
  • Become oriented to how clients access services and develop expedited referral processes for clients reentering the community
  • Establish and facilitate competency specific stakeholder meetings for service providers and stakeholders to provide input into the program and how to best serve clients
  • Work with other professionals in the Jail to coordinate services while the client is incarcerated, including Jail medical staff, Jail Based Behavioral Health Services, Jail Education and Transition, and Jail Operational and Support Services staff
  • Collaborate with other professionals in the criminal justice system
  • Performs related work, as required
  • May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a h igh school diploma and any combination of 6 years of education and experience in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, counseling, and criminal justice.

DRIVER'S LICENSE:
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position requires the ability to case manage for the significantly mentally ill
  • This position requires work in the community meeting clients including, but not limited to, the incompetent to proceed, unhoused, and/or incarcerated

Supplemental Information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor Degree in Mental Health and intensive case management
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Considerable knowledge of the assigned program
  • Interviewing and counseling skills
  • Ability to work directly with at-risk and disadvantaged populations including those potentially in crisis
  • Ability to work effectively with other employees, clients, agencies and the public
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently walks, bends, crouches and sits or stands for extended periods of time; by position, operates large vehicles daily and/or conducts home visits, occasionally required to physically pursue, restrain and control minors housed in the Juvenile Center; pushing/pulling meal cart, occasional lifting and carrying; frequent hand/eye coordination to operate computer keyboard and office equipment; vision for reading, recording and interpreting information; speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and members of the public.
