JOB TITLE: LENDING ASSOCIATE I

DEPARTMENT: RISK MANAGEMENT

REPORTS TO: LOAN PROCESS MANAGER

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

TYPE OF POSITION: FULL TIME

JOB SUMMARY

As a Lending Associate, this person will be responsible for overseeing the e-documentation process for all loans at the Main Bank location. This person will also be responsible for the processing of paid off loans, including pulling loan packets and files, releasing titled collateral, and sending all necessary documentation to customers after loan closing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

1. Oversee the e-documentation process for all loans, including following the steps below:

· Check for signatures on all loan documents;

· Initial off on loan documentation checklists;

· Scan all loan documents and ensure the documents are correctly saved in the document imaging software;

· Send all loan documents used for funding to the Loan Servicers;

· File mortgages with county offices;

· Handle the checking account used for real estate filings, including writing checks and balancing the account;

· Take searches to Richland County Abstract for updates after loan closing;

· Ensure 1099 reporting information is given to the accounting department on real estate purchases.

2. Maintain the file room including pulling paid off loan packets and cleaning out paid off loan files.

3. Ensure all document retention policies are being followed.

4. Release vehicle titles of paid off loans and send out all other necessary documents to customers of paid off loans (owner’s policies, abstracts, etc.).

5. Assist in maintaining technical exceptions over six months at a level less than 80 at any one time.

6. Make copies and/or scan financials to the document imaging software as necessary.

7. Maintain a Notary Public status.

8. Scan, save and file crop insurance documents.

9. Assist with scheduling client appointments.

10. Assist loan officers as needed.

11. Handle telephone calls ensuring high service standards for both clients and other team members.

12. Greet customers as they enter the bank and direct them to the correct area.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A.S.) from a college or university; or one to two years of banking-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideal prior experience with lending compliance, lending programs, proficient with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or related software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position is Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM and is forty hours a week. Overtime may be required as needed. Some of the work is repetitive, and you will be required to deal with the public and must be courteous, and efficient.
