Overview:

The Lending Assistant I provides administrative support and extraordinary service to the Banking team and interacts daily with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as with internal clients at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall administrative and customer relationship support for the Banking team.
  • Identify and input information needed to onboard new client and new credit facility opportunities into nCino and verifying that the information is complete and accurate prior to submission to underwriting.
  • Identify, collect and/or order required due diligence items necessary to underwrite, document, and close new credit facilities, renewals, or modifications by working with applicant(s), internal employees, and outside vendors. This can include organizational documents, financials, title policies, UCC searches, appraisal reports, environmental reports, know your customer documents, etc.
  • Uploading of the required due diligence items and loan documents to the appropriate databases.
  • Assist Bankers with requesting attorney prepared loan documents and work with loan documentation team to facilitate the review of the documents, when applicable.
  • Request the preparation of bank prepared loan documents from the loan documentation team, when applicable.
  • Facilitate the closing of credit facilities by gathering all the required loan documents and compliance related documentation for execution by the customer, ensuring that all invoices have been paid and fees have been collected from the customer, uploading all executed loan documents to the appropriate database, communicate with loan documentation and booking and funding regarding the closing, funding, and booking of the loan to the bank’s core system.
  • Tracking, collecting, and clearing of post-closing/nonmaterial exception items (i.e. final loan policies, recorded documents, original documents, etc.).
  • Monitoring and notifying the banker of coming due and past due financial covenants/material exceptions.
  • Uploading of financial documents and clearing of financial covenants.
  • Monitoring and notifying Banker of credit facilities that are approaching maturity.
  • Assist clients in making advances and pay downs on committed loan facilities and completing routine treasury activity.
  • Review of draw request packets.
  • Daily monitoring of overdrafts and past due payments and communicating with client and/or banker to resolve.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and travel, manage supplies and prepare managerial reports as requested.
  • Provide extraordinary service by responding timely to requests for information, researching discrepancies, and resolving issues.
  • Escalate issues and problems and communicate with Bankers and Managing Director as appropriate.
  • Consistently maintain a high level of communication with the Commercial Banking Managing Director, bankers, and staff.
  • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
  • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Represent the Bank and Commercial Banking team in a highly professional manner.
  • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
  • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Reliable and predictable on-site attendance.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of related work experience required.
  • Ability to identify required due diligence items for different types of credit facilities.
  • Proven ability to review and understand all loan documentation to ensure the loan documentation is prepared in accordance with the loan approval.
  • Salesforce/nCino experience a plus (not required).
  • Understanding of organizational documents and ability to identify signors (i.e. Articles of Organization/Incorporation, Bylaws, and Operating Agreements).
  • Proficient technical skills with the Internet and in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven performer in a fast-paced service-oriented role ideally from a Commercial Banking environment with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of bank products, treasury services and operations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated success in a multi-task environment with attention to detail and follow through.
  • Reputation for persistence, flexibility, dependability and teamwork. Must possess ability to remain calm in the face of changing priorities, work with a sense of urgency and communicate with co-workers and manager.
