Overview:
Utah State University's School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) seeks candidates for a Lecturer position in Instructional Leadership. We are looking for a creative, visionary, and energetic faculty member for our innovative online principal preparation programs (Administrative/Supervisory Concentration and M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership). Responsibilities will include: teaching (online), service to the university, community, and field, and program coordination. Applicants should have demonstrated K-12 school leadership experience.

This position will be physically located at the USU main Campus in Logan. This is a 1.0 FTE, term appointment, 12-month Fiscal year position.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach graduate courses in instructional leadership.
  • Continue development of teaching skills and keep current on content in the field.
  • Engage in program development activities.
  • Maintain a positive professional reputation based on teaching activity.
  • Assist with recruitment to the instructional programs (M.Ed. and ASC).
  • Develop partnerships with schools to promote instructional leadership.
  • Attend department and program area meetings.
  • Support the department and university efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Provide service to the university, college, department, and to the field of education.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Earned master's degree in educational leadership or completed administrator credential program.
  • Current or past Utah administrative licensure.
  • Five years experience as a K-12 school administrator.
  • Demonstrated commitment to designing and delivering high-quality instruction that supports equity and inclusiveness.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Effective teaching at the college/university level.
  • Experience as a K-12 school principal.
  • Experience with distance education delivery (e.g., online, broadcast, blended delivery).
  • Ability to lead and organize instructional programs to promote effective student progress.
  • Evidence of, or potential for administrative program coordination (e.g., recruitment, advising, accreditation).
  • Participation in collaborative LEA and university-based initiatives and partnerships.

The School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) continues its tradition of land-grant outreach, delivering quality teacher education to preservice and in-service cohorts. TEAL offers an array of baccalaureate and graduate degrees, including a distance-delivered doctorate, within the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services. TEAL provides outreach programs within the University's Statewide Campuses system, including an on-campus elementary laboratory school and five stand-alone centers. The department provides the highest number of graduates to become teachers in the state of Utah. The mission of the School of Teacher Education and Leadership is to inspire and prepare effective and reflective educators, scholars, and leaders through dynamic learning experiences; diverse knowledge and thought; school, community, and global engagement; and research and innovation that inform practice. The department consists of 35 faculty representing diverse areas of education. Faculty enjoy collaborative relationships with those in the department as well as other departments in the college. This position will be physically located in Logan at the main campus.
