SuperSummary, a publisher of literature study guides and educational content, is looking for an experienced Learning & Development Consultant to evaluate and improve our Content Team’s training materials and systems on a contractual basis.

We are looking to fill an immediate need for a project period of approximately 3 months, with the possibility of establishing a longer-term relationship. Potential Projects

• Building a new knowledge base for the team of writers and editors who create SuperSummary study guides

• Evaluating and improving our current study guide writer/editor training programs

• Establishing new Content Team learning & development programming, such as writing workshops and seminars

Responsibilities

• Develop learning and development strategies based on adult learning principles, skill and knowledge gap analysis, and long- and short-term organizational goals

• Evaluate existing training & professional development programming to identify and implement opportunities for improvement

• Launch Content Team engagement initiatives to cultivate improved job satisfaction, loyalty, and a sense of community

• Develop a team-wide mastery of training, learning, and development best practices

• Define success metrics and KPIs to assess, analyze, and report on skill-building and employee development initiatives

• Report weekly and monthly on project progress and KPIs

• Undertake additional, related duties as required
  

The ideal candidate will utilize an expertise in adult learning to ideate, validate, and execute various learning and development initiatives and determine how SuperSummary can train and retain its best and brightest Content Team members. You’re the right fit if you have a passion for literature and education, a desire to fine-tune and constantly improve processes, and experience building systems, plans, or programs from the ground up. You can dig into data to make informed decisions and are brimming with ideas that will help us improve the way we instruct and support our Content Team of writers and editors.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, HR, Organizational Development/Design, or another related field

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching/education, training, learning and development, or in another HR role with significant exposure to the aforementioned

• Experience developing and evaluating training and development programs, methods, and materials. Experience with some form of content creation and/or curriculum design is a plus

• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to cultivate relationships across all levels of the Content Team

• A dedication to creative problem-solving and innovative thinking

• A high comfort level with setting, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators and a willingness to analyze data across teams and processes and extrapolate insights from that analysis
  

Time Commitment & Team Structure

The weekly time commitment is approximately 15–20 hours per week over 3 months, with the possibility to extend and expand the role. The Learning & Development Consultant will be required to attend—via Zoom, during business hours—both weekly and monthly meetings to report on progress.

The Learning & Development Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Content Operations Manager.
