We are currently accepting applications for qualified Lead Toddler Teacher to add to our team at a quality 5 Star SUTQ rated childcare and preschool center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Lead Toddler Teacher potential candidates should have previous childcare and teaching experience. You should display a friendly, positive attitude, be comfortable working with groups of children ranging from (18months - 2-1/2 years of age).

Lead Toddler Teacher:

  • Ability to interact with toddlers, patience, interacting capabilities, attention to details and organizing group activities
  • Provide basic care and following precise feeding, grooming, and changing schedule for each individual child
  • Plan and manage classroom activities and develop age-appropriate socialization skills in children
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interest and learning styles infants such as stories, music, singing and play time to intellectually stimulate children
  • Provide a nurturing and safe environment for toddler to develop and reach age appropriate milestones
  • Training, supervising, and mentoring assistant teacher to ensure that they perform well
  • Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are sanitized and kept clean
  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest and playtime
  • Communicate with parents daily and maintain positive relationships with family to ensure that their toddler needs are met
  • Maintain all SUTQ related documentation and paperwork
  • Maintain the health and safely of all children
  • Monitoring and supervising the children constantly
  • Interacting with the children to gauge their abilities and personalities
  • Supervise children in the learning centers as they play with age -appropriate toys
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interest and learning styles of toddlers such as stories, music, singing and play time to intellectually stimulate children
  • Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are sanitized and kept clean
  • Assist with maintaining all SUTQ related documentation and paperwork
  • Instruct children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest and playtime
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
  • Communicate with parents on children's' growth and progress
  • Maintaining a safe and positive environment
  • Monitoring and supervising the children constantly
  • Cultivating relationships with children, parents and guardians
  • Serving meals and snacks
  • Greeting parents and addressing children by their name
  • Maintain the health and safety of all children
  • Greeting parents and addressing children by their name

Lead Toddler Qualifications:

  • Must hold a CDA minimum AA or BA (required to be a Lead Teacher)
  • OCCRRA Career Pathways Level 3 is required for lead position
  • At least one year of child care experience working in a licensed ODJFS child care program
  • Current physical, and ability to pass BCI/FBI background check
  • Training in First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse/Neglect are preferred
  • Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Training in First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse/Neglect are preferred
  • Job requirements include a high school diploma
  • Current physical, and ability to pass BCI/FBI background check

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, instruct and bend for a long period of time

Salary:

Up to $17.00 an hour - Full-time (depending on qualifications and experience)
