Now Hiring: Lead Maintenance Technician – Rock Hill, SC
New Hope Carolinas is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to help drive the quality and safety of our environment of care.
Job Summary
The Lead Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Director of Physical Plant Operations of our 150-bed, 130,000 square foot adolescent residential treatment facility. The care, esthetics and safety in our building is absolutely essential to the success of our program. The Lead position helps drive the team in day to day duties, and serves as a number two to the Director.
List of Essential Duties
- Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the Director of Physical Plant Operations.
- May require evening, weekend, and holiday work.
- Is available as needed to assist Housekeeping staff.
- Assists in obtaining quotations for supplies and/or equipment applicable to work duties.
- Assists with purchase and stocking of maintenance supplies.
- Assists in maintaining the facility in appropriate condition for all inspections/reviews by licensing and regulatory bodies.
- Provides assistance with planning for and installation of HVAC, lighting, and other systems as required.
- Assists other Maintenance Technicians as required or directed.
- Provides oversight of routine work orders, by collecting, prioritizing and assigning work orders to Maintenance technicians.
- Performs preventative maintenance inspections of the building to identify, prioritize and correct building issues. Reports progress to the Director of Physical Plant Operations (DPPO) as indicated.
- Provides assistance to other Maintenance Technicians in preventative and routine maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedules.
- Is on call and emergency call as required.
- Keeps maintenance area and equipment clean and functional; Assures cleanliness of all area sumps and drainage systems.
- Assures proper use of safety equipment.
- Monitor and perform basic operation/maintenance of fire/alarm/security systems.
- Clean vents and light fixtures in all rooms as needed; cleans vent hood in the kitchen as needed.
- Provides continuous painting and repair of walls.
- Responsible for any in house construction or remodeling/demolition.
- Responsible for major plumbing and pipe replacement.
- Responsible for installation of new equipment with in reason of job knowledge (boilers, hot water heaters, storage tanks, pumps, motors, etc.) as directed by the Director of Physical Plant operations.
- Responsible for basic electrical functions.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years experience in general repair and maintenance preferred; Clear driving record required to operate any New Hope vehicle.
